Guidance for Claiming Reimbursement
Employers are obligated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act to ensure first aid arrangements are in place at the workplace. Kela reimburses employers/entrepreneurs for necessary and reasonable costs incurred in maintaining first aid readiness, as stipulated by the Health Insurance Act. Such costs include the expenses of first aid training organized for employees.
- The organization must have an established occupational health service.
- Identified needs must be documented in the action plan.
- The trainer must have a qualification in First Aid and Health Education (ETK).
- Reimbursement is up to 60%, within the annual maximum limits and according to Kela’s decision.
- Employers must apply for reimbursement within six months of the end of the fiscal year.
- Entrepreneurs must apply for reimbursement within six months of paying the invoice.
Emedical Oy’s trainers hold the First Aid and Health Education Trainer qualification (ETK). Our first aid courses meet Kela’s requirements.
